Job description

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Assistant Forest Manager to join our team in Herefordshire.

The role is ideally suited to applicants with some experience in forestry, who want to grow with an expanding small business. We are looking for an ambitions and energetic candidate to assist with our diverse and expanding client base, which includes farm and estate woodlands, commercial investment properties, trusts and charities. The position will be based out of our Hereford office, with travel to sites throughout the surrounding counties, and occasionally further afield.

Roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the supervision of a wide range of forest operations
  • Grant and licence applications in England and Wales
  • Production of woodland management plans
  • GIS and mapping
  • Tree surveying and mensuration

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A full UK driving licence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and IT literacy
  • A deep interest in forestry and the wider rural economy
  • A commitment to a high standard of integrity and professionalism

 

Candidates should be Chartered or working towards chartered status. More experienced applicants with the skills to take on business development roles are also welcome.
