Through this programme, candidates are recognised for having the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to plan, coordinate, and manage a wide range of activities, from tree felling and timber harvesting to habitat restoration and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring both operational success and environmental stewardship, including:
Commission and supervise forestry projects and on-site works in diverse settings, including public estates, private woodlands, and commercial forests.
Implement and enforce health, safety and welfare standards to protect workers, contractors, visitors, and the public, following current FISA and environmental guidelines.
Manage operational logistics (from timber extraction and forwarding to coordinating with hauliers and integrating with public road systems) while ensuring environmental good practice rules and guidelines are followed.
Balance multiple site uses such as recreation, biodiversity conservation, and production forestry in line with UK Forestry Standard best practices.
