A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, practical and knowledgeable Woodland Manager to join a private estate in South West Wales.
The estate contains approximately 450 acres of mixed woodland, including productive timber woodland and areas of rare Atlantic temperate rainforest. The role includes day-to-day management of the woodland, practical forestry work, contractor supervision, harvesting, thinning, planting, restocking, deer and invasive species management, maintenance of woodland infrastructure, timber sales support, and helping develop future woodland enterprises, including the potential establishment of a tree nursery.
The successful candidate will work closely with retained forestry consultants who provide strategic forestry advice, grant support and woodland planning. Candidates should be chartered or working towards chartered status.
There will be potential opportunities for a partner within the wider estate.
