We are looking for a seasoned and highly skilled Forestry Asset Manager to lead and enhance the management of forestry assets across multiple client portfolios throughout Scotland. This dual-focused role integrates financial asset management with direct oversight of forestry operations, ensuring that agreed income and expenditure programs are delivered on time and that forest assets are managed to the highest standards. Drawing on extensive forestry knowledge and experience, you will serve as the primary point of contact for forest managers, ensuring compliance with best forestry practices, environmental regulations, and fund requirements. Based in our client’s Scottish office, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead strategic planning, drive financial performance, and champion sustainable forestry practices, maximising long-term value across diverse portfolios.

Role responsibilities
- To manage a portfolio of forest properties by developing and delivering strategies that generate strong financial returns while safeguarding the environment
- To monitor timber production, land value, and conservation outcomes to maximise net returns for clients while ensuring long-term asset performance
- To oversee daily forestry operations, ensuring activities are efficient, cost-effective, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of best practice at all times
- To manage financial planning and reporting by preparing budgets, forecasts, and valuations
- To build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while clearly communicating asset performance
Skills you will need
Essential:
- A degree-level qualification in forestry or a related field
- Proven experience in forest management
- Strong knowledge and understanding of forestry regulations, standards, and practices
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse investments, budgets, and market trends
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A team player able to collaborate and communicate with a wide range of audiences
- A strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Highly organised, efficient, and driven
- Strong IT skills, proficiency in GIS, and the Microsoft Office suite
- UK driving licence
