Job description

Scottish Forestry is the Scottish Government agency responsible for regulating forestry activity, policy, and grants. We’re looking for a knowledgeable Regulations Manager to lead on the delivery of felling and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) regulations, supporting Conservancy offices across Scotland.

In this national role, you’ll provide expert advice, update guidance, support complex cases, and help ensure consistent regulatory delivery aligned with Scotland’s Forest Strategy. You’ll also contribute to staff training and the development of IT systems that support our regulatory work.

You should have experience with felling and EIA regulations, a good understanding of the UK Forestry Standard, and a relevant qualification in forestry or land management. Strong communication skills and confidence using Microsoft Office packages are essential to this role.

If you’re passionate about shaping the future of Scotland’s forests and have the expertise to lead in this area, we encourage you to apply by way of application form via the recruitment portal.

Please note occasional travel across Scotland will be required.

Closing date: 12 October 2025.
