Stand for ICF Council in 2026

As the Institute of Chartered Foresters enters its second century, this is an exciting and timely moment to get involved in shaping its future.

Building on the momentum of our 100-year anniversary, we remain committed to being a strong voice for the forestry and arboriculture sector – promoting professionalism, celebrating the achievements of our members, and championing the diverse and rewarding career opportunities across our professions.

With strong and stable foundations in place, and a dedicated staff and governance team to support members getting involved, now is a great time to stand for election to Council. Those elected will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our next organisational strategy and help guide the Institute as it continues to evolve.

Our Council has control over all matters relating to the management and organisation of the Institute and all service on Council is honorary. Standing for election as a Councillor is a valuable opportunity to develop your governance skills, raise your professional profile and play an active role in strengthening our membership as we look ahead to the next century of the Institute.

There are currently seven seats (two Fellows and five Professional Members or Technical Members) available on Council.

We encourage Chartered and Technical members of all ages and backgrounds to stand and we are particularly keen to welcome more early career professionals and arboriculturists on our Council.
